ABOUT KAREN CRAWFORD

Karen has been a professional handler/breeder/exhibitor for many years and is well known in the USA for showing Pomeranians and Keeshonds. She has bred and finished Champions of her own breeding as well as handling for many of the top Pom breeders in the country including Diane Finch of Finch's Pomeranians, Noble Inglett of Noble Pomeranians, Mike and Cande Gordon of Pominique Pomeranians, and many more. She has taken her charges to Best in Shows, Best in Specialty Shows, many Group placements, and handled many, many Poms to their Championships. Karen is well known for her grooming techniques and is always being asked to groom other exhibitors dogs for the show ring - and often does so just before ring time. She is also well known for her generosity in helping others with grooming tips, show ring tips and advice. Her honesty and fairness in the show ring is unquestionable. Now she is offering her expertise to you in this video. Your time spent watching her and practicing with her will truly be a significant learning experience. We are sure you will be pleased.

Excerpts from booklet:

"Thinning shears are used for the coat and leg fringes. You use the straight sheers only for trimming ears, toes and pads. Slickers are used to fluff up the coat on the feet as you will see in Karen's video."

"Always keep the toenails trimmed short. If you hear toenails on the floor, they are too long. Always trim the nails short before starting your trim."

"When bathing, make sure you get the entire coat wet all the way to the skin."

"You need to have the right equipment to properly trim a Pom - meaning brush, comb and shears (both straight and thinning), shampoo, etc. If you are going to do your own grooming, it is best to invest in good equipment and supplies."
